I use jDownloads version "1.8.1 Stable" and if i changed the Joomla Mailer option from "PHP Mail Function" to "SMTP Server" then jDownloads won't send any emails anymore and i get then this error message then:
PHPMAILER_RECIPIENTS_FAILEDinfo@xxx54.com,

I have found the bug. Please use the attachment unzipped file (only for users with installed 1.8.1 stable).
