I did find a bug if i upload a file name that has a ' character in it i get a Database error.

If i upload the file without the ' character and then go to the FTP and add the ' character to the name and do this also in the MySQL then it works. This looks like a upload script problem to me because the ' character is a simply and often used ISO8859-1 character.

I always used a file uploader extension for articles and there i didn't had any problems to upload a file with a ' character in the name.

It is to complicated to handle this with the DB and works not with all server software.
So for the moment it is not planned to support it.
By the way, try to upload the same file in the Joomla Media Manager (or with other components), You will seen that the single qoute is removed in the saved filename.
