News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hello!

We use jdownloads with jsitemap Pro and the plugin works well. However, there is still a problem with the generation of the sitemap. The sitemap generates the paths like this:

URL/menu item/maincategory/category/ID-title That looks like the logical path.

jDownloads generates (for some time now) the paths without the main directory: URL/menu item/category/ID-title.

Is there a posibility to configure this in jdownloads? I think logical hierarchies would actually make sense.

I think i have found the reason:

I have set submenu items to categories with "show only one category". The name of the menu item is not considered at the routing of internal links.

https://www.csm.de/en/downloads/downloads-datasheets then click on subfolder and the structure is gone.

Hi
Yes you have solved the 'challenge'.  You have a nice site!
The bread crumbs module generally shows the same 'path' as the Site Map (I could not find your site map!)
Listing a single Category just uses that Menu item. But I did notice that listing a single Download is not so good!

Thank you. The sitemap is only xml. https://www.csm.de/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=hreflang&lang=en

Should this be a feature request?

If there is a Menu item for a category > include it to assemble the file URL.

Yes would be a good time for a feature request as we are working on a new major release for later this year - main aim is inclusion of latest Joomla!  features including fields and removal of ids in links. As this gets towards being stable/usable we will look at all the recent feature requests.
