Problem after updating Jdownloads 3.2.69 to 4.0.21 - [Not a Bug!]

Hi,

On a Joomla 4.2.9, I have updating  the component. It seems that the data base has already updated.
But there is a mistake with this response on the control panel :
Error: The files path is not defined in option settings! Check this settings in the jDownloads options and correct it.

Menu Item categories : Unknown column 'catid' in 'where clause'
Menu Item downloads : count(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type Countable|array, bool given
Menu Item User group : Unknown column 'f.form_fieldset' in 'field list' Unknown column 'f.form_fieldset' in 'field list'

If you have an idea, I take it ! Thanks a lot

Hi,
unfortunately I missed the jDownloads version in the topic title!

It is impossible to run an update from 3.2.x directly  to the new series 4.

You must update this first to the latest jDownloads 3.9.8.x version! But first they have to go back to their old state with Joomla 3.x.
This update is a little more complex and the instructions can be found here:

When this update is succesful finished (and you have checked the results) read this instructions first before you try the update to series 4:

By the way, I could not install your akeeba backup. The install script viewed some database errors and finally aborted.

Unfortunately, they did not obtain comprehensive information before the update, otherwise this situation would not have arisen. I'll see if I can prevent this in the future, but it probably won't be that easy.
