Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

So something seems to have gone wrong with your update.

Here's what I would suggest:
- you create a complete website backup again!
- uninstall jDownloads 4 (but do not delete the download files or the images, but activate the option to delete the database tables!)
- now reinstall jDownloads 4
- then delete the newly created DB tables and import the previously backed up jDownloads tables (the option: 'Enable foreign key checks' should be deactivated for both actions)
so it might work.

Another option could be to send me a complete Akeeba backup from your Joomla installation AFTER you have updated to Joomla 4 but BEFORE you have tried the update to jDownloads 4!

Please check your e-mail account.  ;)

The problem occurs with the jDownloads version 3.0.8.7 or newer.
In this case you must use for an succesful update at least jDownloads 4.0.23.
