News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi to all,
jDownloads's frontend is very very slow in my website.
If other components - extensions require 2,3,4 secs to load, jDownloads takes up to 15 secs or more.

Even with enabled Cache and Page-Cache which makes all the website to load on a blink of an eye. In administrator/index.php?option=com_cache there is no com_jdownloads.

Has anyone else the same problem? Is there a guide to how to make jDownloads load faster?

I would appreciate any help!

- Joomla Version: 4.4.0
- Installed jDownloads Version: 4.0.36
- PHP Version: 8.1.24
- MySQLi 8.1.0
- Use you the standard backend template: Yes
- Upgraded Joomla 4 installation

Hi
Think the version of PHP you list is not correct!!
I believe Joomla 4.4 needs PHP 8.2+
Other things are noted below

In Frontend options find the new option Use Cache and set to yes - it is in the Cateory Listbox section.
Then further down find another new option in the Other Options settings set 'Use caching for some DB queries' to Yes.

Another slowdown is if you have a large log file. check that the jDownloads System Plugin has a 'rolling period' of at most 93 days

Sorry for the type error. PHP is 8.1.24 (tried with 8.2+ too)
I don't think that any extension can work with 2.1.24 :)
I ve already tried all cache options, that's why I posted the problem here.
I think I am gonna switch to other extension.

That would be a sad decision :(
No one else has reported such a slow response so it is probably something local.
Difficult to see whithout looking at your site in more detail.
I will send you a Private Message (PM)
