I installed jDownloads yesterday, and I am working through all the documentation in order.

Thank you for your great extension,
and your awesome documentation!
I found my first issue after reading 12 web pages of your documentation.

If this is not the correct place to post Documentation issues, please let me know.

This is with the documentation on Files:
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/general-items-v3-9/creating-downloads-with-the-files-facility

It is not clear from
"This article is an example of using the Option files button to upload one or more files and then directly create Downloads from the uploaded files."
And
"Clicking on the button files  button gives the initial step as shown opposite."

It is not clear that Files is in the backend, or how to get there.

I spent several minutes looking through jDownload Options and then the front end, and did not realize Files was the selection "Components" then "jDownloads" then "Files" on the backend Menu. I got stuck here last night, and went to sleep.

I understand this documentation page is for Joomla 3, and the backend Menu is different. However, this documentation page does not even say to use the Joomla backend (administrator) Menu. It is good that this documentation page is available, even though I am using jDownloads 4, Files seems like a very useful feature for big uploads and once I got into it this documentation was very helpful.

Thank you,
Tim

Hi
Thanks for input.  I have modified the documentation so it might be better.
But note that the documentation is for the latest version of jDownloads that is version 4.  It is NOT for jD 3.9 although there is much commonality.
Further comments welcome - an independant view of the documentation is very helpfu

Thank you Colin.

Looks like when you added the paragraph "To find the Files Facility ...", the part of the note before the new paragraph was duplicated to also be after it. Also, the paragraph spacing seems to be less around the part you added than the rest. The paragraph you added made it much clearer to me, thank you.

I finished reading all the notes in the jDownloads Documentation tree.

I had some comments reading the second half. Sorry, I did not take down anything while reading the first half, except regarding the Files note.

I will not track whether anything is done regarding any of these comments. They are for you, if you are interested.

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/general-items-v3-9/how-to-print-an-article
Print Friendly & PDF
There's no link in the note for where to get the addon. I found a firefox link:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-friendly-pdf/
This has a "not monitored for security" warning at the top. Is there a better source?

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/language-related/article-on-including-multilingual-support
Typo I think. It says "Ensure you click on" then a Select Target button image, then a Close image. Maybe it should be "Save Target" instead of "Select Target"? Or maybe "Save Reference"? There is no "Select Target" button on that screen at that point. I am not sure which needs to be saved, the target or the reference, to save the language association.
About a page further down in the same note on the section on Batch copies, it says "Preview Files and Images used in Downloads are held in a 'central' location with database entries indicating their location so those links are also copied." This is not clear to me. Does it mean these files are not copied, and the original link is used in the Download copy?

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/language-related/accented-characters-utf-8-folder-and-file-names
There is a bad link in this note. After the text "For example see the link below" is a link which now redirects to something else, their own private control panel and not cPanel. I want to use utf8, and I could not figure out how to do this to check that cPanel is fully supporting utf8.

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/access-user-group-permissions-v3-9/controlled-access-to-categories-and-downloads-permissions-access-levels
Note says "100ally available", think it should just say 100.

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/access-user-group-permissions-v3-9/how-to-create-a-private-category
In this note it looks like the sample cat name "abc-cat" was being changed to "sam-cat", but mostly it still says "abc-cat". Or maybe the other way around. In either case, I got really confused trying to figure out which was which.

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/access-user-group-permissions-v3-9/single-user-access
Sentence ends mid-word: "Often the Registe"

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/modules-plugins-v3-9/plugins
Before "further details on how to use" the note says "[NEEDS REF]". I do not know Joomla caching rules, so I can not help here, sorry.

https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/modules-plugins-v3-9/using-the-content-plugin-in-articles-and-modules
Where the note says "in the backend go to the  jDowndoads Control Panel  and select Layouts" it might be clearer if it said "in the backend menu go to the jDownloads Component and select Layouts" since that is where Layouts is actually found.

Thank you very much for all of this awesome documentation!
