Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

symbol not added to dmg files

Not recognising Extension dmg
In  Category 'dmg-files' I have used FileZilla to uploaded the 3 files listed below
Wordsmith_1_4w.dmg
Wordsmith_1.4.dmg
Wordsmith_1.4 - Copy.dmg

Checked that in File images/jdownloads/fileimages/flat_1 contains dmg.png  -  dmg.png is also in file images/jdownloads/fileimages/flat_2

Downloads of these were then created using the Control Panel Check Download Area with the 'Full Scan' Option
This created the Downloads OK but there was no icon shown as illustrated in the attached
