News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hey guys.

jDownloads Version 3.2.25 beta

Everything else about jDownloads seems to be working fine. The configuration page looks fine, and all folders are writable. From the Downloads section, I can create a new download file from the list of files in the downloads folder.

Problem is, when I click on Files, nothing loads, just a blank white page. I can click back in the browser, and carry on like nothing had happened, but no matter how I go about it, going to the files section just loads a blank white page.

Previously, I had this issue, and completely removed everything jDownloads from my server. I had managed to reinstall jDownloads, but this issue persists.

What can I do next?

Hi,
QuoteProblem is, when I click on Files, nothing loads, just a blank white page.
I think you mean on the frontend?
Please check your jD configuration settings in the TAB Frontend about the Plugin support (see pic).
Please deactivate the plugin support and test it then again.

When this not helped:
- activate the debug option in Joomla and set the 'Error Reporting' in the TAB: Server to 'maximum'.
- test it then again and post here the error message

But you can also send me login data for your backend as super admin via PM (when possible).

No, I am not referring to the frontend. I am referring to the files section in the admin section.
Deactivating and reactivating has made no change. In fact, completely removing jDownloads has had no change.

I turned on debugging and saw the little debugging info on the bottom of the joomla admin page. Opening the jDownloads configuration again showed the debugging. I clicked on the files, and got a white page, no debugging.

I have additionally tried clearing the cache on the server, clearing the cache on my browser, and even tried an entirely different computer an OS and browser, all with the same results.

For what it's worth, this is the problem I had when I initially tried removing jDownloads and made my other post about problems reinstalling jDownloads...

Hi,
QuotejDownloads Version 3.2.25 beta
Please install at first the newest update 3.2.26.
This should fix your problem.
When not should you send me login data for your backend via PM.

Is there a preferred way to do the upgrade?

From the website info it looks like I should be able to just download the 3.2.26 package from here:
http://www.jdownloads.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=133&view=view.download&catid=43&cid=337

And use that to upgrade. Or can I just go through the Joomla updates and update from that? Or should it not make a difference?

Or should I remove jDownloads 3.2.25 first?

You can use the Joomla update function or download and install it manually. ;)

Never ever...

Never ever...

I will remember that.

I have upgraded to 3.2.26 through the Joomla updater, and so far so good. Though I seem to recall (or think anyways) that I had checked that when I first installed 3.2.25. But whatever... It's working now. I will keep an eye on it over the next few days or so and re-post here if the problem comes back again.

Thanks a ton for the great support!
