Hi all,

we are using jdownloads 3.2.31 for our new Joomla 3.4.1 website. First off all let me say that jdownloads is the best download component for Joomla, I found on the web.

Some of our downloads need to be password protected. After entering the correct password, the user is redirected to the same site again and again without having

a chance to open or store the file localy on his computer.

I have to turn off Joomla Cache completely ,then it works fine.

But with Joomla Cache enabled, download of the file is not possible.

All components and plugins of my site are up to date

Any sugestions?

Regards,
Stefan

Hi
The jDownloads content plugin has an option to selectively turn off caching for specific circumstances.  Could you check the settings as shown in attached pic please.
In the mean time I will try to reproduce

Colin

PS is this happening from the content plugin in a regular article, or is it when using a jD menu item?  Please advise
C

Hi Colin,

this was happening from the content plugin in between the detailed description of an event. (We use com_event_booking also.)

From the attached picture 1 you can see there are two downloads for this event. {jd_file file==15} and {jd_file file==16}
First download was password protected,
Clicking on the download button the download page was represented.  (attached picture 2)

Entering password the user was redirected to the same page again and again, (picture 2)

However, i changed the setting 'PLG_SYSTEM_JDOWNLOADS_REENABLE_CACHE_LABEL' in the jdownloads system plugin from 'NO' to 'YES'
and it works now!

Great Support & thanks for your help!  :)

Regards, Stefan

Hi
Glad the problem got sorted.  Maybe you could add to jD Support in the Joomla! Extension Directory!
