Hello,

I'd like to know what's the interest of having a language option in layout editing if we can't use it ?

For example, I have two languages, one is French and second is English, so I did two layouts, one French, one English, but, I can activate only one. I thought it would be logic that I can activate one layout from every language. so jdownloads would switch to the currant language layout, but it's not.

So, what the language setting for ?

I have been checking the documentation of Layout and found no info.

Thank you.

Hi
The standard layouts do not contain any text so they are the same for every language.  If the Default language is set to french the for example a message such as
"Only registered and logged in users can download files from this category."
becomes "Enregistrez-vous ou connectez-vous pour récupérer des fichiers de cette catégorie"
Similarly words like "Subcategories:"   become "Sous-catégories:"

That is the translation occurs.

It would however be good if any included text, description or similar supported language sensitivities such as
{en-GB}Automatically assigned description{/en-GB}
{fr-FR}Description automatique par defaut{/fr-FR}
{de-DE}automatische Standardbeschreibung{/de-DE}
as in parts of the configuration.

Perhaps you could raise this asa a suggestion?
