News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi there,

jDownloads Version 3.2.36

Our editors are allowed to upload things in various jdownloads categories. But when they create new downloads, they remain in state "unpublished". They should have the permission to publish their (and all other) downloads, or even better, the downloads should be published automatically.

In Joomla-Admin -> Users -> Groups -> Options -> JDownloads -> Editor the permission "Edit State" is set to true.

In JDownlodas-Admin -> Categories -> Name -> bottom the permission for editor -> edit state is always allowed.

I already read the following articles:
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/using-permission-reset-tools
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/controlled-access-to-categories-and-downloads

Hi
In User Groups Settings int the Group Creation/Editing Settings tab there is a tick box "Publish New Downloads".  You should set that for your 'uploader' user groups.

Please make sure there is a sufficiently high Ranking value eg 123 set (its set near top left of main part of form)

You might find following helpful

Thanks, it works now!

This option (along with the maximum upload size option) is hidden very well, you should consider optimizing the admin interface here.

For the file size problem it would be nice to have a reference here: http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/how-can-i-upload-bigger-files
