Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

I have a site which has several menu items which allow users to upload into different single categories.

It works well, except that some uploads are duplicated in some categories, but not all There is only one file shown in the backend, but the user sees two files in the front end which are duplicates including the number of downloads. If I delete a download from the front end, it deletes both. Any ideas please?

Hi
A possible scenario is that a user uploads a new file but has not deleted the old one first.  If you have auto monitoring active the jD will make a new Download.

I am not totally convinced by my explanation above because both are deleted when you delete just one of the 'pair'.  So have you migrated from an earlier series of jDownloads?

When you look at the Downloads in the backend, sorted  alphabetically, do you see the double entry. If so do they have separate ids?
To check out you need to also look at the
xxx_jdownloads_files table in your database.

Please let us know the results of the checks
