Download button not dowloading[solved]

Good day , I installed Jdownload but when ever I click on the download button in the front end , it will only read the file but will not download it . Kindly do help me.

what I meant is that if its an mp3 file it will just play the song and not download , if its a .txt  file , it wil just show the content of the file on another page but will not download . please help me , where do I need to activate or what do i do  so that the download can download the file to my system .

Hi
It sounds as if the downloaded file is being opened by your Browser.  Many browsers allow you to Save.
If you go to jDownloads Control panel and select Configuration, the Download tab and scroll down to "Which file types are to be opened in the Browser?" you will see which file types are opened in the Browser.
