News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

As illustrated, the Tags in jD4 are not quite finished.

Added tag 'Article_tag' in two articles. Also added tag 'PDF-Download' into 3 Downloads.
Added menu item 'List all Tags'.  The Joomla 3.10 with jD 3.9.8.6  and Joomla 4.2.9 and jD 4.0.22 setups are identical.

First checked out in Joomla 3
Image jD39-tag-1 shows the result of using 'List All Tags'
Clicking on tag 'PDF-Download' lists the 3 Downloads that have this tag as shown in pic 'jD39-tag2.png'.
Clicking on the one of the listed Downlods gives the a Download Deetails view of the Download as shownin in pic 'jD39-tag3.png'.

Repeating in jD4 on Joomla 4.2.9 and jD 4.0.22 with the same setup and using 'List all Tags' menu item lists the same tags as jD3.9 as shown in pic 'jD4-tag1.png'.
However clicking on  tag 'PDF-Downlod' does not list the relevant Downloads but
reports 'No matching items were found' as illustrated in 'jd4-tag2.png'.

Hi Colin,
Thank you for the bug report. You are right, there are probably still some errors here.  :-\
Also in the tags component in the backend, filtering by jDownloads categories or downloads cannot be displayed.

In the Tags component view in the frontend, jD categories with tags are displayed, but the links to the view are generated incorrectly.

I will fix this, but it may take a few days.
Best Regards / Gruß

Hello!

I'm working on a new Joomla site (4.3.3 - so the most recent version).

I'm experiencing the same issue as exhibited by Colin - JDownload tags are working OK within the Control Panel, but the front end site is not showing them.

We are using the default theme of Joomla for the site.

Are the issue with tags resolved? I have advised my content uploaders to just use the default Joomla tagging for now and I'll resolve it, but is there anything I need to do to ensure that it all works?

Hi,
unfortunately, there is still an error with incorrectly generated links when the option for search engine friendly links is activated in Joomla.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time and opportunity to fix this yet. So it will still take a little while. But I can't give any dates.
