News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi,

I have added image fields to download listing page. When I set maximum for width and height in backend, the images are stretched to those dimensions, which is not desired. When I leave those fields (width and height) empty hoping the actual sizes of image would be used, the images do not appear (showing a missing image icon).

What I want is for images to appear with their actual sizes without any alteration.

Regards,
Amir

Hi Arno,

This is right; I want thumbnails to appear based on actual size of images uploaded (without altering the dimension of uploaded images)

Amir

Give me an example:
- which sizes has your uploaded image
- which sizes have you defined in the settings for the thumbnails?

Considering not all images have the same shape, some might be landscape and some portrait. When I set the maximum width and height for thumbnails, it does not limit the thumbnails to those dimensions, but for images smaller than those values, it stretches the images to the maximum defined.

Consider an uploaded image is 125 x 53px, and the maximum W and H for thumbnail is set at 250 x 250, then the program stretches the image so that the width is 250px (see the attached file). My thought was that the max. W and H means the thumbnail W and H should not be bigger than value defined instead of stretching it to those values.

Amir

Okay, i understand what you mean.
I think it should be possible to change it in this way.  ;)
I will hope that we can do this in next update.

Hi Arno,

I am glad that I got the message through, and you will be implementing it.

Any idea when the next release will be published; I want to send an email campaign to those companies (images).

Thanks,
Amir
