Hello!

When I try to change the standard folder icon (image), the new one is visible in the back-end (Configuration/Images) but on the front-end it does not change. It always shows the yellow one.
All caches are off.

Hi
Whoops! You are right there is a bug in changing the Default icon for a category. It should be

"To change the default icon go to Config - Pictures tab and find field 'Default image for categories:' . Use the pull down to select which icon and then Save" but it does not work!!!

For reference to change an individual Category  Icon  go to Categories and click on the name of the category whose icon you wish to change.  This will open up the Edit Category page. On the right hand side select Additional Data.  This then gives opportunity to select a new icon from the pulldown list, or you could upload your own icon.  See pic attached.  This does work!

Hi,
maybe exist here a misunderstanding?

When you see the description from the configuration option, it says:
QuoteThis specifies the default symbol to be automatically used with new Categories.

So when you select here another symbol will this not be used for already existent categories.
But the new symbol is correct selected by default for new categories (see pic).

@Arno
Another whoops!  I forgot that it was just new cats.  ::) :-X

Obviously can be forced by changing database but dangerous.  Maybe yet another addition for my long, long awaited extra tool?

I apologise!
Arno is right, I misread the description and did not see that it was intended for NEW categories only!
Indeed existing categoeries should not be changed by this setting, plus one can indeed change them individually.
So no need for extra tools.
Sorry again!

All the best,
Eric
