News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hello together,

Despite the FAQ page of the provider and of the youtube-videos by Richard Bankert https://youtu.be/Agjuch0aIqw I can't get to it, that when I click on the Insertbutton in the JCE-Editor, represent only the file name as a link is provided.

A feedback I would be happy.

Greeting

P.S: Someone has nen tip for me as a sidebar displays after opening of the subcategories?

Hi
I think what you are asking for is just to show a simple link or button to download a Download.
First we need to check that the standard part is working.  So please ignore any info in the video you mentioned.  It would help if you could confirm or comment on each step below.  Also some pics of what your page looks like would help.

1. When you use the jDownloads Content Button you should see in the article you are editing something like  {jd_file file==4}  where the numeric value is the ID of the download concerned.  Is that what you see?

2. If you do see that then when you visit the article then it should appear something likepicture below.  Is that or something like it what you see?

3. Have you published a  jDownloads menu item? Usually this is the 'List All Categories (Default)' type.

When I understand better then I will try to resolve the 'challenge'
