For downloading images, when you click the Download button, it opens the image in the browser. What I would prefer is that you can download the file directly, as a PDF file. For PDF files it works well, it opens the window asking which folder to save the file.

jDownloads --> Configuration --> Downloads --> "Which file types are to be opened in the Browser?" field

Delete the image file types you want them been downloaded directly instead of been shown in your browser.
