News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hallo Community,

meine Kategoriebox im Header ist optisch nicht so ideal aus. Gibt es dazu auch ein Basis Layout, dass so aussieht wie hier auf der jDownload-Seite?

Danke

Hi
My German is not good for technical issues - but OK for social! So I have used Google translate.  Please excuse if I have misunderstood.

I not sure if you would like to have your List Box as shown
EITHER  like in the picture you attached -Also attached below
OR like the standard view in the second pic?

For the moment I am assuming you would like the Standard View.  It is probably some CSS in your template that is selecting the text centering but it is easy to overcome by adding some css in the jd_custom.css file.  Plesae see information on that at
http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/custom-css

You will need to switch to the v32 style layouts (if you have upgraded from v41 or earlier to v42 you will have both v2.5 and v3.2 layouts bit if you have just installed jDownloads as a completely new install then you only have the v3.2 ones) the v2.5 ones are deprecated.
The easiest way to add to the jd_custom.css file is in the Layouts section of the jD Control page.

You will probably need to add css something like the following to jd_custom.css
.jd_top_navi_catbox select {
   text-align:left !important;
}

To be absolutely sure could you please send, by PM, your site address and I will check.  If you send me super user login details then I will also edit the custom css for you.

I tested this on my test site and put "text-align:right !important;" in the css - it gave the third pic attached.

Hello,

Thanks for your help!

The problem was the Joomla! javascript library 'formbehavior.chosen'. i has write css style in the template.css.

I have found a error in jDownloads:
- maincategory 'test' with a subcategory 'test_sub'
- category 'test' have no documents, the subcategory have a document
- if the parameter 'Show empty categories?' No, then the category 'test' is not in the category box :-(

that it for the category box not perfect

Hi
Glad you have sorted out the css with Category List box.
The situation you describe is what is meant to happen.  By empty it means 'has no Downloads' so it is not an error.
The text Description alongside the  field "Show empty categories?" in the  Front End tab of Config is
QuoteIf set to Yes then all categories are shown including those without any Download or document.
The converse when set to No means that if there are no Downloads directty attached to the Category then it is not shown. Or put more simple : if No then do not show Category if it has No Downloads.
