News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Can you please tell me what is the easiest way to import downloads from Joomla 1.0 Remository component to jDownloads.

There are around 400 files in database.

Thanks

Hi
If the files are stored in the server file system thenit is straight forward. Install jD and in Configuration turn off auto monitoring in the Monitoring tab. Allso check which file types you need.
Remositry has a root directory and then has directories below that root level. I will call these the top level directories.. Because of the amount of database work and time limits on the server I suggest you copy over one top level directory at a time.

When you have copied over one top leel directory together with its subdirs and files then go to the jD control panel. On the righthand side you can initiate monitoring which will create the jD categories and Downloads. Repeat for each top level.
