How can I list all files in a category which includes files in its sub category also? Simply, I want a menu item that will list all downloads in a category and its sub categories.

For example just check this url. http://kseb.in/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=category&catid=4&Itemid=584&lang=en . This menu item lists all tender notices spread in so many sub categories. Instead of showing these folders and file counts, I want to publish a list of  files in all categories/ sub categories. Is there any option available in the Single Category menu item?

Hi
At the present time there is not a menu item which lists all downloads starting at a particular category.  It would seem useful to have this as a variant of List All Downloads.

Could I ask you to submit as a Suggestion please.

Either there should be a provision to select category in all downloads. In my web site, kseb.in,  entire download is divided into two main categories i.e; Orders and Tenders. Both these categories are meant for different type of visitors. All downloads will list entire downloads, i.e; mixing both Orders and Tenders making confusion for both type of visitors. If all downloads is available within the category, this issue can be solved. Alternatively category view option may be provided with a check box to include files in sub category also.

Hi
If your visitors had to login then the problem is solvable now as you could assign the different type of user to different user groups.  Then set up view Access levels so that each user group only sees their particular set of Download.
Please let us know if you need more assistance using that approach.
Otherwise please add to the Suggestions topic

No. These are publicly accessible downloads. No need to login. Hence, access control cannot be applied. Now category view provides file list in that category + sub category folders. If there is a check box to list files of sub directory also instead of just folder list, this issue can be solved.
