Hello Everyone

I recently discovered the automatic upload of files through jdownloads. (I use to put files using the external site fonctionnality).

I'm facing a problem though : When upload is finished, my file is indeed ready for people to see, and they can download it with the download button.
But flowplayer displays an error message : 200, stream not found.

How can this be ?

Thanks a lot for your answers.
Edit : I tried to put the html5 video player, the error message changes to : No video file found Mime compatible.

Hello

Colin PMed me to talk about my problem in further details. So here it is :

1/ I create a category in jdownloads panel. Say "Horizons"

2/ in filezilla, I go to the JdownloadsDefaut/horizons and copy a mp4 file here.

3/ Once the download is complete, it shows in the jdownloads frontend

4/ When pressing the download button, the file downloads fine BUT

5/ the preview does not work. (see pix attached)

If I use a html5 player, the error message is either : "Aucune vidéo dont le format ou le type MIME est géré n'a été trouvé"
which translate roughly by "No video file found or Mime is not compatible"
If I use the flow player it says "error 200 : stream not found".

But it cannot be an adress problem, because it downloads fine. Is there a permission somewhere to unlock that.

6/ Note : If I do it manually, there is no problem...

PS: On another topic, is there a way to put thumbnails on those mp4 vidéos or is it just for pictures and pdf ?
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi
It seems I cannot reproduce your problem!  I tried with an existing category and a new category.
Do you have the Config - Monitoring tab- 'Download directory monitoring?' field set to No?  If not please set to No and the after the upload with FileZilla is complete then in the jD Control Panel  - Status tab of the sub panel click on the 'Check download area now'.  What may possibly be happening is that whilst the video is being uploaded an auto monitoring event occurs and this gets a bad reference or similar.

Also please check that field 'Protect your Download-directory?' in Config - Security tab is set to No.

Hello Colin

Thank you for your time.

The protect directory is set to no. I turned the automatic download off and tried, but it did not work. The problem persists... any idea ?
Should I reinstall jdownloads ?
Thanks :)

[SOLVED]

Colin, thank you so much for having taken a look.

The problem was that I had set up a custom folder location for JDownloads "upload directory path" (in th eroot of my ftp server, not on www)
For starters, _preview_files _tempzipfiles and _private_user_area were "UNWRITABLE". I found out that they were missing from the custom folder
I added them manually which put them as "WRITABLE", but the problem persisted.

So I reverted back to the default folder. I had to start from scratch with the directories and category permissions, but now it works.

Thanks again Colin.

Hi
In part of your tidying up make sure you have copies of all the data files.  Where there is no corresponding directory to a category/sub cat then it might be helpful to work from the lowest sub categories up to its top level category deleting the sub cats and top cats from jd Categories panel.  Then Introduce a few at a time and do an monitor from the jD Control Panel.
Take your time!
