News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

So far as I can tell, I have all the permissions set to allow public access as well as for Registered users.  If I log in to the Front End as a Super User or Administrator I can see the downloads, but when I look either not logged in, or logged in as a Registered user, I do not see the downloads.

For context, this is on a site that I am working on upgrading from 3.x to 4.x.  I am updating from jDownloads 3.9.  The downloads were/are working fine on my 3.10 site.

Any ideas on what I can look at?  I've checked the permissions in the jDownloads system Options, as well as the permissions for each Category and each Download.

Hi
The permissons set in the top level categories 'flow down' to the sub cats and then to the Downloads.  So look at the prmissions set for public and registered in the top level categories.

Another aspect is if you have set a Deny permission anywhere on any level it causes multiple 'challenges'.

I will send you a Private Message (PM)

Hi,
this should not be a bug, more a misconfiguration. So I will move it to General.
Best Regards / Gruß
