News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Heiko,
The jD Custom Fields were in jD3.2 and earlier.  In updating jD3.2 to jD 3.9 they were automatically converted to Joomla Fields.
Please see  https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/general-items-v3-9/fields-in-jdownloads
An important feature is Field Groups.  Also multilingual support is included.
Please ask if you need more info/assistance
Best wishes

Hello,
My problem is not that the fields were converted from "Custom Fields" to Joomla fields, but that they are now all called Field1, Field2, etc. Before Joomla 3.9 I gave the fields names such as operating system, version, upload from and so on. This information should be found in one of the JDownloads database tables, but I can't find it again to name the current Joomla fields the same way.
Where were the "column labels" of the "Custom Fields" originally stored in the database?

Translation created with Google.

Greetings Heiko

Sent you details of the relevant documentation aslo here again
https://www.jdownloads.net/documentation/general-items-v3-9/fields-in-jdownloads
Did you know that when reading an article at the very top right is a pulldown allowing you to select the language of the text? The text in images remains in English

I guess you still have the 3.2 version which was the last version where jD used its own custom fields.  Attached is a pdf showing the entries in the Files table.
Hope that helps

QuoteThis information should be found in one of the JDownloads database tables,
No, this is not possible. Perhaps you found this in an old jDownloads 3.2 table. These were kept as a backup when updating to version 3.9, but from then on this data was no longer used in tables currently in use.
