Plugin For 4SEF

Is there a 4SEF plugin for jdownloads? Is it necessary?

As far as I am aware there is no 4SEF plugin for jD.  Basically do not think it is useful but Arno intends to make the SEF options work in jD.  It is outstanding and was due to be done - then along comes Joomla 5 which has delayed SEF related activity

Has this issue been resolved in the new versions of jDownloads and Joomla 5, or if there a third-party plugin? I am seeking a solution to remove downloads or categories from SEF URLs.

This work has not been done yet.  Fixing bugs that stop a site working remains our top priority.
It has been very demanding with changes to Joomla 4 and 5 where there have been significant internal code changes.  And also the need to support PHP8.  All of these improve Joomla but inevitably the components lag a bit behind.
The changes may sound simple but that is rarely the case!!!
