Blank window does not close with "Is the main file on an external web page" selected.

I have external files located on archive.org. So I added the archive.org link to the "External File Link" field in JDownloads. For years this worked. Recently it stopped downloading the files when someone selected the download on the frontend. So I selected the "Is the main file on an external web page" and now it works. But now a blank window appears and it does not automatically close when download is finished. Is there any way to eliminate the blank window or have it automatically close?

I will try to reproduce your 'challenge'.
With external files there are several places they can be located
1. Existing Download
-------------------------------
2. Or select file from root area
------------
3.External File Link and is it on an external web link
-------------------------------------
4. Mirror link-1 and is it on an external web link
-------------------------------------
5. Mirror link-2 and is it on an external web link

Also to some extent the resultant process depends on what operating system you are using on your PC or laptop. Is it Win 10, Win 11, IOS or another?
