News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Oops, Google search on this error is really getting so many entries, this must be one of the most common errors...

Ok... what have i done myself:
1. Check all the files and categories on "Publish" and make sure that they have the correct rights
2. CHMOD -r 777 on the var, www and other files.
3. Read the manual and look on forums.

What am I doing wrong?
Is this an OS/System or Joomla or jDownloads message?
I think I tried almost every possible solution I could find with Google - the error persists...

Joomla does show my categories but when I click on them I  get the error. Please have a look at these screenshots:

Hi
Have you set Permissions and access levels and User Group Settings Rank?
Have you read http://www.jdownloads.net/documentations/item/controlled-access-to-categories-and-downloads  ?

It may be easier if i could look at your site.  Maybe you could PM me details

Colin, Arno,

Thanks for your prompt replies!

I think I should start with a fresh installation...
Some time ago I already tested jDownloads and had unistalled it.

When I installed it again I was suprised to see that it had kept some settings.

So I think now this should be the way to uninstall:

1. Remove jDownloads via the administrator console.
2. Manually remove all remaing folders
3. Manually remove the database tables (everything which ends with downloads (like:nen9v_downloads_credits)

Anything more to delete?

Thanks for your support!

Theo.

Arno,

Sorry for that! Should have found that document myself...
Anyway, I have seen it, did an uninstall en reinstall with the latest version and guess what?

jDownloads works perfectly!!!!

Many thanks for your effort...

Just a small side-note... My category screen is now white on white - see screenshot...
Can you let me know what to put in custom.css to make it transparent?

Thanks....

Theo.
