News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Can you point me to what files/functions to edit in order to be able to sort the front end downloads by a custom field?  Or maybe there's already a way to do it?

Thanks for the great product!

Hi,
you mean you want to add it here (see pic)?
This is not so easy possible.  :-\

Sorry, I totally forgot I posted here.  Yes, that's what I mean.  I ended up editing the jDownloads PHP files (and documenting what I changed so I can re-change after an update).  I basically made it so that when the Downloads default sort order was set to "Downloads Manager Order" it actually used the custom field instead (in my case custom_field_6).

It's a hack, but it did what I wanted and I get to continue using jDownloads with only a couple code changes!

Thanks Arno!
