Hello again,

It seems i'm not able to rename a Download filename or Preview filename via the frontend editing feature. The little "rename" icon has just no effect when clicked.
No problem in the backend though.

Hi Dode
I cannot reproduce this problem. Just tried renaming main file - that was ok. I did not have aany preview files in the Download.  Could you perhaps give a little more detail on the setup please.

Joomla 3.3.6
JD 3.2.28
Apache 2.4.7 / PHP 5.5.9

Group settings are customized to display custom fields, no editor.
I'm using a Joomlart template (JA Purity II) that i customized.

Let me know what informations you could need ? Thanks.

QuoteThe little "rename" icon has just no effect when clicked.
But you know that the only effect ist that the file field will be writable?
Best Regards / Gruß

Of course ;-) .
Maybe it's related to my template (JoomlArt) or to my web browser (Firefox latest), i'll investigate further by tomorrow (it seems i'm alone to have this issue here).
Same renaming action works fine in the backend.

Dode,
I use the latest Firefox. No problem with front end rename.  Have you ever used the Firefox Inspector?  That might help diagnose

When i click the rename icon in frontend editing, i get in the Inspector console :
ReferenceError: editFilename is not defined
???

Also tried with the Protostar template, no change, i can't rename via frontend editing with a super user.

Hi
Could you perhaps PM the site details please.  It looks very strange. I will be able to compare the code generated by <site>/components/com_jdownloads/views/form/tmpl/edit.php between the two sites.  Relevant code is circa line 360

Visited front end and logged in.  I had no trouble editing file name from front end - see pics "rename0x.png".  Also downloaded OK. Pic rename06.png shows directory with downloads.  Some are php files but that looked as not allowed!! But could still rename.  Using Firefox see rename07.png

I FOUND THE PROBLEM !!! It is related to the frontend language !
If i switch the frontend language from french to english for a user that has the proper privileges/group, it's working perfectly. If i switch to french, i can't rename !
Now, i don't know what should be fixed in the fr language file to correct this.

Excellent! :D ;D :D  Must be somewhere that jDownloads checks the text rather than the text name!  Now to find it!!

Probably related to the error i reported above:
ReferenceError: editFilename is not defined
No ?
