I have created aprx 30 sub-categories. My home menu is linked with all my downloads. And another menu is linked with categories page where all the 30 sub-cats are displaying.

I don't want to display these sub-cats on page, I just want to link menu with category where it can display files of these 30 categories. Is it possible?

Hi
I suspect that what you want can be done.  But I am not quite sure I understand.  I think you are saying the situation is as below.  Please excuse all the questions but I am trying to understand.

1. Your Home menu item lists all the downloads in all 30+ categories.  Is that correct?  And that is what you want for that menu item?  Is this the List All Downloads menu type?

2 Another menu item lists your top level category and all 30+ sub categories. Is that what happens?   Is this the List All Categories menu type? But you do not want to do that.

QuoteI don't want to display these sub-cats on page, I just want to link menu with category where it can display files of these 30 categories.
Isn't that what you are doing with the Home menu item?  Or is it you just want to omit part of the display?

Would help me if you added a few pics to indicate what you have and what you would like.

Colin
Just thought - is it just you want to omit some details?

Thank you so much for the response.

I have created 4 top level categories. Cat1 is APPS, which has aprx 30 sub-categories, Cat2 Games, which has 10 sub-categories.  And then cat3 and cat4

1- My home menu is linked with "List All Downloads" and displaying all files inside above categories.

2- I have created another menu APPS and linked with single category "Cat1 APPS" and it is displaying all sub-categories folders.

I want to display only download items in APPS menu instead of sub-categories folders.

If I'm understanding you correctly, in your category layout (components->jDownloads->layouts->Category->[active layout]) you would need to remove the {sub_categories} tag.  This would remove the list of all sub categories in the category that was linked to and only display the files/downloads within the category.  Play with that layout to get it the way you want.

Did that help?

@neemdal
To get what you want would mean a modification to the menu type "get downloads from category"
The modification would be an option to include Downloads from all sub categories of the selected Category, as well as those
from the selected category.
Perhaps you could add an entry to Suggestions
