I'm embarassed to be posting this because I know it's something obvious and I should be able to find the information without posting, but I have tried and I can't seem to find anything that helps, so at risk of becoming this forum's most unpopular poster, would someone be kind enough to explain how I do the following:

I'm trying to upload a picture (.png) onto my site.  On the frontend, I select images from the tabs along the bottom of the create download screen.  I then select the image and click on the save button at the top.

When I go to the site and look at the backend in downloads under description file, if I hover on the red box, I get the message 'This download does not have a file associated with it, so it is a simple document' and whatever I do, I can't get it to appear as a download.  Actually further testing with a .pdf shows I can't get that to appear either.

Whilst I'm asking silly questions, is it possible to remove the bits that ask for a language, file system and licence in the create download form?

Thanks for any help.

Hi
Your questions are quite reasonable! jD has so many possibilities I need to write some more documentation! And try to think like a first timer again!!

Now the bit you hav missed is that the ppermitted file types to upload and the questions you want to be asked in a Front End Upload are controlled by the User Groups Settings.  The FAQ section of the documentation has some articles which should help. www.jdownloads.net -Documentation.
