First of all i must thank you for this great extension.
Actually I'm struggling how to get the standard view of a page (show all categories) to a module position.

Is there any workaround to do this?

Thanks in advance for any idea.

Hi Ralf
jDownloads is a Component and displays in the regular main part where articles are displayed.  But you could try
http://extensions.joomla.org/profile/extension/core-enhancements/coding-a-scripts-integration/components-anywhere
Which allows components to be shown in a module position.

I have not tried this NoNumber extension but they are usually very good.

If you have any success then please let us know

Thanks Colin,

You made my day.
It worked out of the box.
The only thing is that the first click on a folder immediately moves to the component page (=usability).
This usually wouldn't happen within a "regular" module.

But nevertheless, Colin
Thanks again

That is good news - maybe the side effect is because it is not a regular module.  The NoNumber people are very good with support and it may just be worth posting it as an issue on their forum.

Hi,
maybe should you delete/unpublish all menu items for jD? But have not tested this.

Arno, Colin,

I think, everything is as fine as it could be. And all the other things that happen are beyond my intellectual mind ;-)

The whole thing works like this:
1.) I have linked the category view (standard view of jD) to a menu item called "documents"
2.) Showing the component in a module works with "{component index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=categories}" for the NoNumber Plugin (not linked to any menu - only referring the component)
This leads to the effect that all the linked folders in the shown jD component within the module have "documents" in the URL (means: linked to the "documents" menu item).
3.) I created a second menu item "docs2" with the same category view.
Nothing changed - still linked to the "documents" menu item.
4.) I deleted the "documents" menu item
The jD folders within the module now are linked to the "docs2" menu item (have "docs2" in the URL)
5.) I deleted the "docs2" menu item, too (and had no more menu item linked to the jD component)
The folders within the module now are linked to the standard jD view ".../component/jdownloads/category/5-category_name?Itemid=0" and the component is shown on the recent menu item (where the module was placed) but as component view - means the other contents are gone  :'(

So, unless you do not create a module that shows the (sub-)folder structure of any category AND navigates by click WITHIN this module (typical jquery thing), I have to live with the jump to the component page or linked item page (which doens't really haunt my sleep  ;D)

Or did I understand anything wrong?

Best,
Ralf

Hi Ralf,
