Public can view Downloads but canot actually download

Hello
i have on category that i want user just can download from that,but when i set the permission to registered user the download link is not appear,i want Public can view Downloads but canot actually download

how can i?

Obviously the documentation cannot cover every conceivable method of setting up but you should be able to get some idea.  Permissions allow things to be done, Access Level allow them to be seen.  So we give Download Permission to the Registered Group in every top level Category, and essure that all permissions oof sub categories and downloads are Inherited.  This is their default state.  Then you ensure that the Access Level of all the top level Categories is set to Public.  Check that all component permissions are set to Inherited.

That should work AOK
