News:

Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

Hi, Colin and Arno,

I am still developing my site and encountered a fatal error after the recent update.  Whenever I tried to upload a file, Joomla will generate the message "Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFilterInput::isSafeFile() in /home/<redacted>/public_html/<redacted>/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 467".

I have searched the web and this forum but did not find anything relevant.  Could you please help point me in the right direction for a resolution?

Many thanks for your support!

Hi,
i think that you have an older Joomla version and should update this now to the newest 3.4.x.

Hi, Arno,

I'm already on the latest version 3.4.3.  What else could be the problem?

Thanks!

Please check whether you have this file in your Joomla installation:
\libraries\joomla\filter\input.php
when yes what is there in the line 348?

Strange. Your file has not the correct content.
Compare it with the unzipped file below from my 3.4.3.
Maybe is your installation not complete updated.

Hi, Arno,

Sorry for asking what might be an obvious question... do you mean the Joomla update may not have been completed or JDownloads?

Many thanks!

Hi, Arno,

You're right.  I just checked and can see that the last update of Joomla core was probably incomplete for some reason.  Have just downloaded a stable full package zip file for 3.4.3 and forced a reinstalled with Extension Manager.  The Input.php file you referred me to is now up to date and JDownloads seems to be working fine without error now.

Many thanks for your support, especially over your weekend!

Cheers!
