maestroc

- J 3.4.3
- Jdownloads 3.2.34
- PHP 5.4.34,  DB Version 5.5.42-cli
- not localhost
- cache is off

What is the problem in detail:
- What you were trying to do, what the errors were.
When a user clicks on a jdownloads link from the JDownloads Latest module it takes them to the download correctly if on the English side of the site.  However, if the user is on the Spanish side of the site and clicks the same item the page renders but without any menu on the page plus the jdownloads category links become 404.

- What you have tried to solve the issue (changing settings).

I checked the associations in the menu manager and the English JDownloads category list link is associated with the Spanish JDownloads category list link.

We are not using any SEF extensions other than the built in Joomla one.  We are also not using any cache at this time.

Regarding the 404 issue a working page is here (English category listing):
http://www.straightarrowhosting.net/~myamigos/en/map/forms

A broken page is here (spanish- page is slid to the left and clicking on any document link causes a 404 error):
http://www.straightarrowhosting.net/~myamigos/es/map-2/spanish-forms

------
Regarding the problem with the menu

Link to the test site working page is here:
http://www.straightarrowhosting.net/~myamigos/en/component/jdownloads/summary/5-english-registration-forms/23-parent-agreement

Link to the broken jdownloads page is here:

Any advice or input on either of these related issues would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Sorry for delay but Imissed this one!
I am not very familiar with multi language sites so please excuse the questions.
Could you confirm that apart from jD all the other parts of the site work in multi language ok please.
Presently I only have my tablet with me so will look when I get back to my PC.
Think we may need super user access to resolve.  Could you PM details if possible.

Hi
I got the PM AOK and logged in this evening.  However you do not have the jDownloads Root directory set!  You need to set that.  Also could you load the eXtplorer component so I can look directly at the file (category) structure.

When you have the jDownloads root directory sorted could you please try the language switch with Use url rewriting off to see if that affects language.  And also with both  url rewriting and SEF off

Thanks

I fixed the download directory.  I had just moved the site over from a test server and didn't think to change it.

Also, Profiles is installed on the account as a file manager.  Hopefully that will work the same as Extplorer for you.  If it won't suffice for your checking let me know and I can still get it installed.

I also turned off SEF URLs and rewriting and checked but the problem is still there.  The main menu goes away when viewing downloads in Spanish.  I turned them back on for now but if you need to turn them off temporarily to verify you can do so.

Hi
Thanks for sorting the jD root.  Profiles file manager is AOK - I was not aware of it, looks very good.
Just in case I make a 'bad' change I have initiated a backup with Akeeba.  It is 6:00am here in UK so should be very slack time where you are.
Colin
EDIT Backup done
