No-downloads message option doesn't work

Hello.
I think there is a small misconfiguration at JDownloads, with the "no-downloads" message option. I have two main directories with 3 subdirectories each. When I turn on the no-download message, it appears in the subdirectories with no contents to download (and that's correct), but also in the main directories, even if there are all the subdirectories inside them.
I've tried to configure, at the menu item options, the main directories to NOT show the message and the subdirectories to SHOW. In vain: I allways get the show or not show option of the component main configuration. :-(
Does it have any way to change this?
Thank you.

Hi
Not sure I quite understand.
Are you saying that there are no Downloads in any Category?

Hello.
I'll try to be a bit more specific:
1. I have created several download categories, and some of them are still empty. Others, will have scheduled downloads, which after some time will be no longer available.
2. I've enabled the option "show no- downloads message" option, at the backend (screenshot 1)
3. At the front end, the message is displayed inside the categories with no files to download. But also at the main categories, if there are only subcategories folders (see screenshot2)
3. I've disabled the same option at the menu options (screenshot 3) but nothing changes.
4. What I would like (and seems to be the logical) is that the message appear only at the categories with no items to download. But it doesn't make sense to have the same message on a category in witch you have folders with lots of items...

Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Hi
But what it is saying is true! There are no files in the  current Category even though there are Downloads in Sub Categories.

I think you are asking to show the message when there are no further Sub categories AND when no files in the current category
If you look at the attached image from jDownloads Tree module it would be for example when category Topcat-Sub1a was being shown.  There would also be two other incidences.

Hi, Colin. Thanks for your reply.
Well, that's probably a question of point of view: I think that makes no sense to say that there are no downloads in a category with several folders and files to download inside them. And I think this is a bit deceptive, even if there are only folders-with-files (not simple files) inside. But, well, that's only my opinion.
Anyway, the "second" question remains: when I choose the option "hide" at the menu item, it should overwrite the main configuration, isn't it? But it doesn't...
Tks

I was not saying it would not be offered as an option I was trying to clarify the situation when the message would be shown.  Was my interpretation correct?

To implement would need a further Config parameter such as "Only Show message when both current category and its sub-categories have no Downloads"
This would follow the current "Show empty categories message?" and would only be applicable if Yes selected for "Show empty categories message?".  it would also mean an extra database field in the Config tab.

An alternative might be to have a more sophisticated message that included the current Category Name such as "No Downloads found in Category xyz" where xyz is the current category.  That would certainly be easier to implement.

And in regard to your second query that does look like a fault.

Hello, Colin.

Yes, your interpretation is correct.
Anyway, I think that if the second query is solved, the problem will be solved too, as in that case I'll may enable the "show message" option in jDownloads global settings and disable it at the specific menu. I'm I correct? Now, let's wait and see if someone can fix it...  :-\
