Support for jDownloads 3 has been ended
Since 17 August 2023 Joomla.org has discontinued support for Joomla 3.x. Therefore, we will no longer offer official support for our Joomla 3 jDownloads version 3.9.x from January 2024.
Please update your website to the latest Joomla version (Joomla 4 or Joomla 5) as soon as possible. Afterwards, please update jDownloads to the latest published version. The longer you delay, the more difficult the upgrade process for your website is likely to be.

With a short video, visitors see barely nothing. Takes several minutes to begin too play. Then freezes. Then Plays and continues to freeze.
Here is a 13 second video to demonstrate. http://www.watchawear.com/members/my-uploads/download/2-watch-faces/186-turbine-colors-multi.html
Here is a longer one. They both play fine on other sites when uploaded.

I have 45 meg internet and it still freezes and barely plays.

Biggest problem is on phones. Android or Apple.

I can not reproduce here a problem. For me are both videos fast  playable.
By the way jDownloads has nothing to  do with this. Only the browsers html5 player handles this files.

Try it on a phone. That is where 80% of my traffic comes from.

And then? What shall i do? The data transfer to a mobile phone depends on from many things. maybe should you contact your hoster and tell him your problem?

Hi Terry
I am surprised at the size of your video clips. Both are approx. 25Mb yet there play times are very different.
When I tested out the HTML5 I used, among others, a 'public' video clip call Big Buck Bunny.  It runs for 60 seconds and is less than 6Mb long.
Maybe its a resolution thing!

Hi Terry
I copied your video - Attack on Titan and loaded onto my test site.  Ran straightaway on my PC.  Tried on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S5 - so not very new).  There was a pause of less than 5 seconds and video ran through with no hitches for full 41 secs.  replay was immediate.
Also ran it on my PC your site and it was fine

After finding the update posted in one of my other posts that was moved to "Bugs" it seems to have improved significantly. Thanks Colin.
